D-Box Motion Profile for Forza Horizon 5

Hi, when will the D-Box Motion Profile/Setup for Forza Horizon 5 be available?

Hey Edvard, Welcome to the community!

Forza Horizon 5 is awesome and our team is currently working on making it available asap!

I can’t give you a specific date just yet but know we are working on it!

Thanks,

Any news on console implementation for the Haptisync?

Hey Jean, the team is working on it. However, I do not have a specific launch date yet. I’ll update you as soon as I receive more info. Thanks!

I saw the d-box profile pop up for this game - well done in getting it out so quickly.

I’m having some difficulty in getting it to work though. I have the steam version, and presume I need to select the “data out” option. Should I reach out to the support team?

Thanks

In the .exe window that pops up when you launch through D-Box Game Center, you’ll see a port number (mine was 32000). Put that port number into the Forza 5 data out settings field in game and 127.0.0.1 as the IP. That got the motion working for me. Need to forward to 32000 port with something like Simhub if you’re using that as well: https://github.com/SHWotever/SimHub/wiki/Sharing-UDP-data-with-other-applications

It’s working fine now - could have been user error, I reinstalled a few things. Awesome job by the way, it feels great.

Edvard here is absolutely right!

By the way, you guys have exclusive access have we haven’t even made the announcement on the game’s availability just yet as we wanted to make it as easy as possible for our users to play. Good on you for figuring the settings out on your own!

Well it’s much easier than the FH4 profile which had to run on a second pc. I figured out the port settings but my mistake may have been I was running Windows 11 beta and the d-box “listener” didn’t initialise. When I rolled back to the public release, everything was fine.

Bit of feedback on the profile: the team did really great job. It’s not a sim of course but I noticed a couple of really interesting things going on - the braking feel of ABS and wheel slips is better than in our “sims”, as is the feeling of running on rubber tires. I know you may be working with better data (I heard FH5 has adopted some of the new tech from their FM sim in development) but if this is a sign of things to come in other profiles then I’m really happy to see it.

One really minor issue: I turn down the impact setting but occasionally get a jolt from a minor impact, my guess is there are some types of impact that the setting isn’t applying to. But that’s a really small glitch.

Agreed. The profile feels great. Thanks for getting it out so quickly.

Just as an FYI to anyone who might not have noticed!

Forza Horizon 5 is now fully available in Plug and Play fashion on the Game Center!

With windows store version (not steam) I have an error message “Forza Horizon failed to start. Motion is stopped”

Have you an idea please

I was wondering if anyone can help.

I have installed Forza Horizon 5 (through the Microsoft store) but the motion control shortcut is not starting the game. Instead I get an immediate error dialogue pop up saying “Forza Horizon failed to start. Motion is stopped.” This happens regardless of whether I start this through D-Box Game Center or through the start menu shortcut.

The game works fine if I click the normal shortcut without motion but obviously then I don’t have any of the D-Box motion goodness!

It seems like maybe it is pointing at the incorrect install location but I can’t see anywhere I can change this. The game is installed in the default location on the C: drive.

Annoyingly this used to work on my old PC but I’ve upgraded and now it’s stopped working.

Thanks for reading and for any help!

Hello there!

Thank you for asking this question as this is relevant information for everybody!

Due to the nature of code integration in Forza Horizon 5, in order to get D-BOX haptics to work 100% of the time, right after you launch the game, you need to launch the “listener” which has the name “Forza Horizon 5 Live haptics”

If you take a look at the screenshot below, simply search for that name in the search bar and run the program.

You should then be good to go!

Thanks again for your question, be sure to let us know if problems persist as our motion engineer @felix.gervais might be able to help!

Hello.

I hope you can help me.

Today I bought the game in the steam shop.

When I start the game with the Symbol “Forza Horizon 5 with Live Haptics” a black Window is open with these information:

Starting D-Box Live Haptics…
D-Box Live Haptics Started
Started collecting Data on Port 32000

My D-Box is go up and down

But when I play the Game I have no D-Box Haptics

What can I do?

Sorry, I’m still a beginner when it comes to the game D-Box, but I hope you can help me anyway

Best
Michael

Hi Michael! Could you please write to support@d-box.com with this issue?

Thanks, now I’ve found my mistake, I forgot to specify port 32400 in the game.

However, the motion effects are not as good as in Dirty 2, for example, when I drive over grass, for example, I don’t feel any motion at all.

Thats likely cos Forza isn’t really a sim, its an arcade game so less about simulation and more about fun.

If your D-pad vibrations were going all the time you’re offroad in it for grass and everything bigger, it’d run flat in no time

@michael.schreiber You can adjust these settings in your profile (see attached).

It also goes with the fact the game wasn’t code the same by the studios. Textures weren’t code the same in Dirt2 and in Forza. Therefore, motion will also not be the same.
